Mobile usage has grown tremendously with applications and mobile search as well. Google has also brought changes to the search world also with changes in its algorithm that is tailored for mobile search results. Google announced changes in its paid search platform, Google Ad Words, that would be focused on ads displaying on mobile devices.

This has created mixed responses and Google will do this upgrade automatically and would optimize for your mobile campaign by itself if you belong to the category who never bothered about this earlier and who don’t want to bother about it even now. But now it won’t be possible to create a mobile only campaignun like before, but marketers can still create a desktop only campaign if required.

PPC advertisers who did not bring out any benefit from these features before would now be able to use it and gain from it. But others like agencies etc. have shown a sign of frustration towards this action from Google.

At present the campaignsin Adwords supports the adjustment of bid according to the time of the day where a marketer can bid down with their office or store is closed, and Google has decided to go further with this feature and allow marketers to opt for both location and the device as per their preferences.

To treat desktop and mobile at same level Google have increased Cost per click (CPC) which is supposed to result as beneficial for Google but not for the mobile advertisers who have been enjoying the low Cost per click until now. The good news is that Google will not charge for mobile reporting anymore though as it used to do before.

This upgrade is required and Google will force it on marketers during around mid year and will do adjustments for already existing Desktop only and Mobile only campaigns and has asked to merge Mobile and Desktop campaigns to those who have been running hem separately on their own.

PPC marketers need to keep an eye out on the campaign objectives and on their desktop vs. mobile settings as Google begins their shift. Keep an eye out on the WebitMD blog for more updates.
