Haiku Poetry Day – A Poetic Call for Better Growth Marketing

Jen Saunders

Today is Haiku Poetry Day; a time to celebrate the Japanese way of expressing beautiful, complex imagery and ideas through minimalist text. I received graduate degrees in English lit, so often (and without much control) my love for poetry and prose bleeds into my marketing mindset. That said, when I think of Haiku poetry and the best way to help clients achieve those high-revenue goals, I turn to the WEBITMD growth stack for a custom digital marketing strategy hand-crafted to fit each client.

A Growth Stack is the Haiku of Digital Marketing

The best Growth Stack embraces the minimalist construction of ONLY the tools and strategies that meet the client’s needs. For example, some clients may not need to drive traffic from organic, while others may not have customers who use social media. Then, using these tools and strategies, a grand strategy for driving revenue is put together where each of these works together to deliver the right messaging to the right buyers.

A Haiku consists of three lines; the first and last line has five syllables, and the middle line has seven syllables. These poems rarely rhyme. When working with your agency to customize your ideal Growth Stack it should resonate like a Haiku: it’s components should be recognizable, flow with ease, and all working parts need to come together to deliver one clearly defined goal through a methodology that makes things simple and graceful for the client.

Driving Traffic

Here is a Hauki that reveals one of many accouterments to a winning Growth Stack, driving traffic:

Mist Absconds the Hillside, Go Drive Traffic

Traffic leads to growth

Users visit landing page

They convert to leads

Your Growth stack must first determine the channels for driving traffic, have an in-depth understanding of the client’s buyers for creating the right content on landing pages that will convert, and use the right messaging to lock down more sales. It, like Haiku, is a formula.

Inbound Marketing

Inbound is a methodology powered by marketing automation software in which prospects are attracted before they are even ready to buy using strategic content through an engineered process. It is one of the most cost-effective ways to convert fence-sitters into customers while inspiring them to promote your business.

Nature VS Nurture

Man has a great need

Nurture him to see the light

Oh loving funnel

Crafted funnels are designed to nurture the buyer through a journey of various awareness stages. Gone are the days when landing pages took buyers to a phone sales team. Today’s consumers are savvy, they engage in research, and they want to make educated purchasing decisions.
